We examine carefully Chapters 1 and 2 in this teaching. We start with the three feasts in Chapter 1 and give background information so you can understand what was happening in the Persian Empire. Vashti was banished after Memucan's counsel and the king's decree. Mordecai and Esther enter the seen in Chapter 2. Out of tens of thousands of girls are evaluated, Esther wins the "Miss Persia" beauty context. She won by beauty but mostly by God's favor. We also teach on Mordecai's delayed honor after exposing the assassination plot and how this worked within God's perfect timing.
